Dance > Languor and Ferocity
Performed in 2003 by the University of Illinois Department of Dance, choreographed by Linda Lehovec.
I ombréd the pattern pieces for these draped tops after they were cut and before they were stitched. They were designed to change from loose and flowing to wrapped tightly to the body. The draped style complements the 'languorous' nature of the first section while the snugged up drape stays out of the dancers' way for the second section, which was more aggressive in its movements. The fabric used for the draped tops is a stretch silk charmeuse, tho allow maximum range of movement.
